ACHS Leadership Update

As we shared with you earlier this summer, William Stuart will serve as our interim principal for the 2021-22 school year. Mr. Stuart is a dynamic educator and administrator who has served in APS for more than 30 years. We are thrilled to have his leadership and expertise at Aurora Central next year.

We also want to share an update about Blueprint APS, which is the district’s long-term facilities and educational plan. The magnet school for our region (Region 3) will be a Visual and Performing Arts Campus, which will include Peoria Elementary and Aurora Central High School. We are pleased to announce that we have selected the team who will lead the Performing Arts Magnet Campus.

Free COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics for the APS Community

APS is excited that all Coloradans ages 12 and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. We are partnering with STRIDE Community Health Clinic and the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) to host FREE vaccination clinics for our families. The clinics will be open to individuals ages 12 and older. Students must have a parent or guardian present.

You do NOT need to be a U.S. citizen to receive a vaccine. Providers cannot require ID before offering you a vaccine. Also, state and local public health agencies will NEVER share your information for any immigration or law enforcement purposes.

Check Your Student In for the 2021-22 School Year!

The 2021-22 school year starts soon and we want all students to be ready for the first day of class. Student check in starts tomorrow, July 1. Parents or guardians must check in their returning students using the APS Student Check-in System before the start of the school year. All students learning in-person, using the flex model or learning fully remote from home must be checked in.

The Student Check-in System is a convenient way for parents and guardians to update or confirm addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, health information, preferred language and more. To access the online system, visit your school’s website or log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you have an email address on file with us, you should have received an email with your username. If you did not receive it, please contact the APS Help Desk at 303-340-0520 or ext. 28203 or contact your school after July 16.

The Student Check-in System is available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal in English and Spanish as well as Amharic, Nepali and French.
