Aurora Central High School

Junior Year in high school could very well be the most important year of your high school career.  As you look toward your future, you will want to stop and check in with the NOW! NOW is the time to make any and all efforts and changes to your academic performance to positively impact your future. Colleges and Post-Secondary Schools look at your performance your JUNIOR YEAR in high school as they consider whether they think you are good candidate for their school. It is because of this that you want to FOCUS in on your academics this year! Check your GPA and make sure you are doing everything you can to make it be the best it can be!

This year you will also have many options to consider for your Senior year in high school and we will need to take steps to ensure that you are able to access all the programs you would like to your Senior Year, these programs include:

  • Pickens Technical College
  • Executive Internship Program
  • CU Scholars
  • CCA-Concurrent Enrollment

Please take this school year to really apply yourself to your work in the classroom, FOCUS on your future and start to develop a plan for what and where you would like to be after high school.

In our meetings this year we will work on developing a post secondary plan, ensuring you are on track for graduation and of course making sure you know what choices you have available to you as a student of Aurora Public Schools.

As always if you have questions please come see Mrs. Woodruff in the Counseling Office or email me!
