Important Dates & Events
- Parent/Teacher Conferences: Thursday, November 20th, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. This is an opportunity to discuss your student's progress with their teachers.
- Thanksgiving Break: November 26th - 28th (No school during this time).
- 11th Grade Parent Meeting: 11/03.
- Farmers Market: 11/12 @ 9:30 am.
- Parent Coffee: 11/13 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am. The topic will cover Campus Safety and Online Safety resources and tips.
- Fall Play: 11/13-15 @ 7:00 pm.
School Expectations & Information
Attendance and Tardies
Students must make every effort to be in class right at 8:00 am daily. The expectation is being in class 95% of the time, which means a student should not miss more than **5 days of school in one semester**.
Title I Fall Parent Survey
Families are highly encouraged to complete a short survey to provide feedback that will help plan future parent involvement activities. Paper copies are available at Aurora Central in multiple languages (including English, Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, French, Karen, Nepali, Somali, Swahili, and Vietnamese).
Student Pathways
Aurora Central offers three major pathways designed to help students prepare for college, careers, and life after high school:
- Career & Technical Education (CTE) Pathway.
- Charles Burrell Visual & Performing Arts Pathway.
- Concurrent Enrollment Pathway.
Standards-Based Grading (SBG)
SBG scores reflect how well a student understands specific learning goals, focusing on what they know and can do rather than averaging all assignments. Scores range from 0 to 4:

Winter Sports (Starts November 17th)
Sports offered include Dance, Cheer, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Girls Swimming, Boys Wrestling, and Girls Wrestling. To compete, athletes must:
- Create an account and register online.
- Submit a current physical (hard copy to the Athletic/Activities Office or upload online).
- Pay the athletic fee of $85 per season.

Community Resources & Outreach
- Aurora Public Schools Food Clinic: Connect with your school's Family Liaison or Community School Coordinator to schedule an appointment only.
- Heart For The World Christian Center Thanksgiving Outreach Drive-Through: November 22nd, 2025 @ 10:00 am (Will be giving away a turkey).
- Heart For The World Christian Center Annual Christmas Outreach: December 20th, 2025 @ 10:00 am at Rangeview High School (Gifts, cocoa, groceries, clothing). You must bring a valid I.D. and proof of your children to attend.
