Aurora Central’s Class of 2019 Celebrates “Half Graduation”

Aurora Central High School recently celebrated its annual "Half Graduation" ceremony! The event brought Central staff and families together to celebrate sophomores who are on track to graduate with the class of 2019.

Students arrived in half caps and half gowns, but enjoyed a full-out commencement.  The auditorium was full of balloons, flowers, and a sea of smiling faces.

A lovely performance by the Torjanaires of R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly” uplifted the audience and families cheered as loudly as they do at regular graduations when their loved ones accepted their half diplomas.

Keynote speaker Dr. Lamont Browne cleverly ended his speech halfway through and staff even recognized the Top Ten Sophomores.

Congratulations to the class of 2019 for pushing through any challenges that may have come their way on their paths to graduate on time and in their efforts to execute their plans for the future. Sophomores, you're halfway there…keep going!
