Family and Consumer Science courses enable young people to learn the knowledge and skills they need for contemporary family life: management of time and money, nutrition for health and economy, self-esteem and family relationships, child development and parenting, housing and living environments, clothing selection and care, and personal and consumer decision-making. Family and Consumer Science courses promote the prevention of family problems through healthy and knowledgeable living.
