Asian Club
Asian Club welcomes everyone to attend - not just Asian people. Since the Asian culture does not hold or play a prodigious part at school, our purpose is to arouse more awareness and interest of our culture.
The first semester we spend most of our time practicing dances for the Diversity Assembly. The Asian Club is very proud to participate in the Diversity Assembly every year. This year, the girls in our club plan to perform a traditional Asian dance such as the "Fan Dance."
Second semester we will spend more time appreciating Asian culture. We expect to have club members bring a variety of Asian food and to research different Asian topics to present.
Once a semester, our club goes to eat Asian food. This semester the club went to a Vietnamese Restaurant and ate pho.

Yin-Yang
The concept of yin and yang originates in ancient Chinese philosophy and Metaphysics, which describes two primal opposing but complementary forces found in all things in the universe. Yin, the darker element, is passive, dark, feminine, downward-seeking, and corresponds to the night. Yang, the brighter element, is active, light, masculine, upward-seeking and corresponds to the day
Chinese Lunar Calendar
The beginnings of the Chinese calendar can be traced back to the 14th century B.C.E. Legend has it that the Emperor Huangdi invented the calendar in 2637 B.C.E. The Chinese calendar is based on exact astronomical observations of the longitude of the sun and the phases of the moon.
