Ambassador Club
The Central Ambassadors are a group of bilingual or multilingual students that are willing to assist with school functions by communicating with non-English speaking parents and community members. The Ambassadors have been briefed on the ethics of translating (i.e. confidentiality, accuracy, impartiality) and sign an oath to uphold these ethics. Parents are given a waiver to sign stating they are aware that the translator is a student and they agree to let them help. The bulk of the Ambassadors are Spanish speakers but efforts have been made to recruit students that speak other languages as well. Some of the other languages that Ambassadors speak include Amharic, Swahili, Eritrean, Vietnamese, Thai, and French.
