Aurora Central High School recently opened its new College and Career Center, thanks to the generous support of the Aurora Public Schools Foundation and an anonymous donation from an alumnus. The center provides students the opportunity to work directly with a staff member to address postsecondary needs including college research, scholarship applications and more.
Hinkley and Rangeview high schools also have College and Career Centers. The APS Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Department serves as the programmatic voice of the centers and the Foundation provides funding to keep them running.
This is a powerful example of Goal 1 of APS 2020: Shaping the Future, the district’s strategic plan. APS is excited to see the plans Aurora Central students will shape with help from the new center.
